OUR MISSION
Rusty’s Rescue Ranch is a foster-based rehabilitation facility. Our mission is to serve the community by accepting unadoptable and special needs animals. We save dogs from high-kill shelters across the state of North Carolina. Our main focus is to find animals adoptable homes.
As those in the community help us to build this non-profit we hope to keep in mind three simple values in which our staff will work and live by. These three values are Honesty, Community, and Compassion.
Our vision is to help as many animals and people as possible. We endeavor to expand our site as much as possible and network nationwide.
OUR HISTORY
This non-profit was inspired by the beautiful Australian Shepherd that you see in this picture. His name was Rusty and he was once a part of our family. Rusty had a bite history and was prone to aggressive behavior.
We tried so hard to get him the help he needed but quickly found out it was impossible. Trainers gave up on him, medications stopped working, we were hopeless. We looked for months to find somewhere that we could take him where he could get the help he needed, and so well deserved.
After exhausting all resources, we had to put him down on October 25th, 2019. It broke our hearts, so in his memory we founded this non profit. Our hopes being that one day no dog will have to suffer the same fate as our sweet Rusty did.
